We found Audley End by chance last Halloween as a halfway point for me and my sister to meet that was toddler and dog friendly. Even during half term, whilst busy, it was very manageable for my toddler. We were so impressed we went back for Christmas. It is a lovely site, often quiet out of school holidays, lots for the kids to do and my toddler adores it. The train ride lasts for a good amount of time and is manageable even for restless toddlers. Staff are always so accommodating and friendly (we were late and missed out train the first visit but they were happy for us to get a later one, space permitting, with no drama). Highly recommend

We visited Audley end during the christmas period and overall it was a great experience. The farther christmas train was great, carrots the elf was our favourite. Our children also loved the carousel and the christmas fairy show.
The only thing that disappointed us was the fairy walk was closed a little bit to early so we couldn't go on it.

Took my daughters (3yo and 8 months) to see Santa here. It's a beautiful setting, the miniature railway is great particularly if like me you go on the steam train. The other train running was electric which IMO hurts the charm of the experience a little. I know it's environment related, but I'd imagine the footprint of those little trains is insignificant to the wider scheme of things and just my opinion but the beautiful steam trains should be treasured and appreciated.
But the whole thing overall was magical for the children, and we as parents enjoyed it just as much as they did. Definitely worth a visit!

You need to book for a weekend as soon as the tickets become available. Well worth what initially seems quite a high price. This two under 4s and were easily amused for three hours. Magical Pre Christmas experience.

The Christmas displays are excellent, comprehensive light displays, the steam train ride & the surroundings are beautiful.
They go to so much trouble to make it a complete visit & it shows; the staff seem genuinely happy to welcome everyone, it's a must visit for families with kids (& the not so young) who love quality Xmas entertainment.
For me, it's the start of our run in to Xmas.
Highly recommended, but advance booking essential.

Great day, well organised good parking and food. Lots for children. Santa is always happy with good quality gifts. Just need some heating in the tented areas. Snowberry looked frozen 😁

Me and my family visited for the Christmas event, we had an ok time. The railway is really good and the theme was ok.
The food on site is ridiculous, you expected to get ripped off at these events but a single sausage cut in half and placed in a bun for £6.
This wasn't our first time visiting but this year it feels like alot corners have been cut the event is trying to make even more profit.

Christmas visit cancelled. We go every year. Our planned booking was cancelled due to Storm Darragh, which was totally understandable. What was disappointing was the communication afterwards. I was emailed with a list of new times and dates available. I replied. Then told my choice was sold out. I was offered a new time and date. I replied within 2 minutes to accept. 2 days later. No response. I chased. Eventually got a phone call. They admitted my email was overlooked. I was offered what was left - later that day (whilst I’m currently in work and children in school) or 9:30 on Xmas eve. Asked for a refund. Will try and find something else for my young family. Very poor.
